CAREER / COLLEGE ASSESSMENTS

Throughout high school, students have the opportunity to take several career and college assessments to aid their planning.

ACT

This is the primary university/college entrance exam in the Midwest. Students typically take this during their Junior year of high school.

ACT Aspire

The ACT Aspire has replaced the Explore and Plan as practice exams for the ACT. The Aspire is a computer based assessment, and will test students in the following five areas: English, Math, Reading, Science and Writing. Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, all students in 9th and 10th grade will be given the Aspire assessment as part of the Wisconsin Student Assessment System.

SAT

This is a university/college entrance exam that is more commonly used on the East and West coast. Most universities accept either the ACT or the SAT. Check with the specific school for their requirements.

ASVAB

This is the military entrance exam, but is also a career exploration program. Student results are not released to the military unless specifically requested by the student. This test is offered every October to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.

Career Assessments

There are various career exploration assessments available to students through Xello and through Ms. Donath. Please see Ms. Donath for assistance.
