The Elmwood School Forest Committee hosted a professional development workshop during July of 2010. UW-Stevens Point Instructor, Sarah Gilbert, delivered Wisconsin's K-12 Forestry Lesson Guides to the teachers and helped to build school forest related curriculum. Participants explored the school's nature trail, discussed forestry concepts, shared forest-related learning activities, and determined possible lessons for students at various levels. The 16-hour workshop was made possible, in part, by a grant from Wisconsin's Environmental Education Board (WEEB).
