We Need Your Opinion...
The Elmwood Community Education is looking into offering a kid’s club (latchkey program). Latchkey provides supervised care with adult directed activities for children before and after regular school hours. We are in the early stages of planning this and are looking to see the interest level of parents in our district. The program would be available for students in 4K through 6th grade.
We are looking to offer before school services starting at 6:30 a.m. At 7:35 a.m., the students would go to breakfast before starting the regular school day at 8:00 a.m. During the morning time students would have a variety of activities planned each week. After school services would start immediately after school (3:20) and run until 5:30 p.m. The students would need to be picked up no later than this time. Again, students would have planned activities to participate in during the time, examples might include computer lab time, games, study/tutoring/homework time, physical activities, etc. A snack and milk will also be provided after school. On built-in early release days we are considering possible field trips (they may require an additional fee and would only be available to those already registered in the kid’s club).
We will be charging a before school fee, an after school fee, or a weekly fee if you plan to participate in both. Fees have not been set, but will be in the range of $2-4 per morning and $4-6 per evening. We are looking for parent feedback. Please complete and submit the following survey. Thank you in advance for your help.
