My name is Brenda Kado. I began my teaching career in Milwaukee as a first grade teacher, but my husband and I did not want to raise our children in a big city so we moved back to this beautiful area.
At Elmwood I am now considered one of the "old timers." Besides teaching in Elmwood for 29 years, I was also a student at Elmwood during my elementary and high school years! (You can see my picture hanging on the wall in one of the graduation pictures!) Because of my longevity, I have witnessed many of the structural changes to the building such as the elementary wing, Lien gym, high school library wing, new gym, cafeteria, and much remodeling. Over my career here I have taught Title I, 5th, 6th, 7th and now have been in Third Grade some 20 years. I totally love teaching 8 and 9 year olds!
Outside of school I enjoy my home and family. My husband, Duane, and I have two grown children, a son and daughter. They are both married and have blessed us with 4 grandchildren that we love to spoil! I also enjoy friends, puttering outside in my yard, walks to bask in nature, traveling and music.
